Purdy Sets a Career-High with Five Touchdown Passes as 49ers Dominate the Colts

In a primetime showdown, quarterback Brock Purdy delivered a standout outing, tossing a personal-record five touchdown passes to propel his team to a commanding forty-eight to twenty-seven victory. The winning effort was capped off by a key 74-yard interception return for a score.

Offensive Fireworks Lead the Way

Purdy was exceptionally sharp, connecting on 25 of his 34 passes for 295 yards. His primary weapons featured star running back Christian McCaffrey, who gained 117 yards on 21 carries and additionally hauled in six passes for 29 yards and two touchdowns. Receiver George Kittle also had a big night, making seven catches for 115 yards and a touchdown.

Playoff Picture Taking Shape

With this win, the victors extended their winning streak to five consecutive games, strengthening their standing in the hunt for a high postseason berth. This triumph also ended a five-game losing skid against this specific opponent.

The opposing quarterback, in his second appearance after a five-year hiatus, put up a strong fight, throwing for 277 yards and two touchdowns. However, a late interception taken to the house ultimately sealed the game.

Game Recap

  • First Quarter: The scoring opened with a twenty-yard touchdown pass from the opposing quarterback. Purdy answered with a twenty-two-yard scoring strike to even the game.
  • Second Quarter: After a fumble on the ensuing play, Purdy found McCaffrey for a short touchdown. The other team tied it up before Purdy threw his third TD pass to regain the lead.
  • Second Half: Purdy continued his rhythm, adding another touchdown pass early in the third quarter. A fourth-quarter rushing touchdown by the other side briefly made it a one-score game.
  • Closing Moments: The home side put the game away with another Purdy-to-McCaffrey touchdown connection, followed shortly later by the game-clinching interception return.

This loss marks the fifth straight loss for the defeated squad, dimming their postseason hopes as the campaign nears its end.
